Measure Twice, Order Once
Walls are rarely perfectly straight! Follow these steps to ensure you have enough coverage.
1. Width
Measure the top, middle, and bottom. Use the widest number.
Tip: Don't subtract for doors/windows.
2. Height
Measure the left, middle, and right. Use the tallest number.
Tip: Measure from ceiling to floor (or baseboard).
3. The Safety Net
Add 2 inches (5cm) to your final width & height totals.
Critical for uneven walls!
Why do I need the extra 2 inches?
Most homes (even new ones!) have slightly slanted ceilings or uneven floors. This "safety buffer" gives you wiggle room during installation so you don't end up with a gap. You can easily trim the excess with a craft knife!
