About Lois Winstead
Lois Winstead is the founder of Whimsy Tots. She makes wallpaper and wall murals for nurseries and kids' rooms, and she writes the WT Journal.
Before Whimsy Tots
Lois was an interior designer. She spent her days helping people make rooms feel right.
How it started
When Lois was planning her first baby's room, she hit a wall. Everything she found was either loud and busy or plain and beige. She wanted something in between: soft enough for a nap, with enough story in it to spark a little imagination.
So she made it herself. Whimsy Tots grew out of that one room, and out of the rooms of her two children since.
"My goal is simple: a gentle place to sleep and a joyful place to play, on the same wall. If it does not make us smile, and if it is not safe enough for my own home, we do not sell it."
How she works
- Every design is our own, made in-house. None of it is stock art.

In the WT Journal, Lois writes for parents doing a nursery or a kids' room themselves: room ideas, which paper to pick, and how to put it up during one nap time.
